Diaper Rash the most common infant disorder is diaper Rash, a kind of dermatitis or skin irritation due to prolonged contact or sensitivity to urine. Stools or moisture arising from infrequent changing of diapers these conditions render the skin more susceptible to bacterial or fungal infection.

Patient Advice:

• Change your baby diapers as often as possible.
• Try not to use diapers on certain hours of the day to allow the skin of your baby to “breathe” by exposing it to air.
• For cloth diapers, always make sure that they are washed thoroughly to avoid the build-up of bacteria.
• Use a hypoallergenic soap in bathing your baby. This way, skin irritation is minimized.
• Avoid using tight-fitting, plastic overalls.
